It’s not just a popular winter sports area but also offers countless other activities besides delightful horse-drawn sleigh rides, thrilling snowshoe hikes, and various toboggan runs. The Chiemgau is known for its ski slopes and snow-covered peaks. The popular Kampenwand and Steinplatte are nearby, providing skiing and snowboarding fun for all ages. There’s also a toboggan run with fantastic views. In December, the annual Christmas markets take place, with a visit to Fraueninsel being particularly magical. Skiing in Kitzbühel and Saalbach

For skiers and snowboarders, we recommend the nearby slopes in Kitzbüheland Saalbach. In addition to the 189 kilometers of slopes, Kitzbühel also offers 41 kilometers of marked ski routes of all difficulty levels, 4 kilometers of action-packed snowboard fun parks, natural toboggan runs, hundreds of kilometers of cross-country ski trails, and winter hiking trails. Toboggan Run in Reit im Winkl & Hochplatte

For those who can’t or don’t want to ski, we gladly recommend the toboggan runs in Reit im Winkl and at Hochplatte. Tobogganing at Hochplatte: The approximately 3.5-kilometer-long natural toboggan run starts at the mountain station of the Hochplattenbahn at 1,040 meters. Tobogganing in Reit im Winkl: At Hemmersuppenalm, you’ll find the Hindenburghütte. From there, it’s a quick descent of 500 meters in altitude. The toboggan run is considered challenging and is not recommended for young children and inexperienced tobogganers.

This family-friendly ski area is a paradise for all winter sports fans and is located between Dürrnbachhorn and Kammerköhrplatte, in the heart of the tri-border region of Bavaria, Salzburg, and Tyrol at 1200 meters above sea level. Here, pure pleasure awaits skiers and snowboarders, whether beginners or advanced: Everyone will find their dream slope to skillfully glide down into the valley. Cross-country skiers also won’t miss out: There are various trails that run across the high plateau.

The slopes in this region are well prepared for skiers and snowboarders. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, everyone will find something to suit their tastes here. Additionally, the ski areas Kampenwand near Aschau, Hocheck in Oberaudorf, Sachrang with its beginner lifts, or Germany’s largest ski area Sudelfeld near Brannenburg are quickly accessible and invite you to enjoy extensive skiing and snowboarding.
